Hello everyone today. I want to talk about hair and how to achieve one of my favorite hairstyles. It’s also a hair product review of the new Eco Styler black castor and flaxseed oil. Gel.
I started using this gel about a few months ago. And this was after I texturized my hair.
I wasn’t comfortable using this gel on my natural hair and I found that it had a lot of shrinkage if you haven’t read in my previous post is that I texturize my hair using motions mild relaxer .
Half of it was conditioner in the other half was relaxer, this way wouldn’t end up straightening my hair and not get the desired texture look that I was looking for.
Most naturals only add about a teaspoon of conditioner, but I really didn’t think that this amount of conditioner would make a difference, so I always used about half of this amount.
Did I tell you how much I love the results!
So anyway now that I’m texturized I love using the Eco Styler black castor oil and flaxseed oil gel.
I have tried the eco styler protein gel, but I really didn’t like it. I found it. It was too light of a A hold and didn’t get any curl definition.
I adapted a method called the the shingling method. I still remember learning about the shingling method years ago when I went natural.
When I went natural the curve natural hair salon in New York New York was all the hype.
I have still not tried Miss. Jessie’s curly pudding mainly because it was too expensive and I didn’t think that anything would give me the curl definition that I desired.
The shingling method was created by the owners of this curve Salon that I was talking about I go way back and when I was a true natural, I would never think about using chemicals in my hair.
Well I did and I loved it and I kind of regret not doing it. Then the shingling method is a method where you take a small section of hair and smooth with your fingers until desired curl is achieved.
I also want to share a great hair tip that I learned on YouTube and that is to use a fine tooth scalp shampoo brush or Tangle Teezer. This can be purchased at Amazon here.

I find it to be a lifesaver and I don’t know what I would do if I were only to use my fingers. I would look a hot mess.
Anyways, you take a small section of hair and apply a generous amount of gel to the strands distributed and then comb through with a scalp massage or a Tangle Teezer.
It looks like I have 3 C hair when I’m finished combing through the hair.

But once it dries it tends to shrink up and it takes a lot and it looks like a lose 4a texture.
Another tip that I wanted to share was that after my hair is dry it tends to shrink up even though it is texturized.
What I do is just elongate the Curls by it with a blow dryer using the concentration nozzle while holding the hair down on each section.
This gives me the desired look that I want to achieve. Well there you have it.
I hope that you found this helpful and please leave comments down below.
