Translucent Loose Powder vs
Hi everyone, in todays blog post , I wanted to share a makeup tip that I learned years ago after taking some pics of myself after using translucent powder. What I have learned is that makeup techniques is mostly learned from trial and error, and this error that I encountered was also an embarrassing lesson that I learned about make up.
I learned this tip a few years ago after purchasing translucent powder to set my makeup (foundation). It was a translucent powder made by MAC Cosmetics and I was also using a MAC Foundation. Now this was before Covergirl and Maybeline introduced their newer darker shades to the world and only MAC Cosmetics had my foundation shade at the time.
Anyways, what I would do after I applied my foundation was use the translucent powder and dip a powder application brush into the translucent powder and then apply it to my face, and it was mostly to the under eye area.
I thought that I looked great and went out with family and friends one day. They were taking pictures one day and thought that I looked nice. Needless to say, when I saw the pictures, it looked like I had racoon eyes!
I was devestated and felt so embarassed! I thought that I was a master at applying my make up and there I saw that I had raccoon eyes and the translucent powder appeard under my eye as a lighter shade and I had the raccoon eye effect.
So what I have learned is that it is better to use a pressed powder under the eye area after you have applied your foundation. MAC also carries pressed powder and it has been lasting me a very long time. All you need is a brush again, to apply the pressed powder in the area that you desire. And there you have it! The racoon eye issue has been solved.
A lot of you may not have even noticed that you might be rocking the racoon eye effect by using translucent powder and so I suggest taking a few candid photos under different lighting settings and then checking it out for your self.
Well, this is just a tip that I wanted to share with you all, I am always into helping others who may not have noticed or for those that are seeking make up tips and advise . I also wanted to share a photo that I found online of some female celebrities that have been seed sporting the raccoon eyes and it probably wasn’t there fault and was embarrassing but I wanted to show you, what it looks like , even though you think that you applied the translucent powder properly. Take my advice and try pressed powder. You can purchase your own, here.
