How to Grow Long Nails for a Beautiful Manicure
Have you ever stumbled in the area of nail growth? Fingernails won’t grow? I know I have in the past, but lately, I have been yielding more attention to ways that I can make my nails grow fast. After doing some research online I finally found some good nail care tips, and I decided to share them on my blog in case anyone else is struggling with the same issue.
You may be wondering, how fast does a nail grow? Typically, a full set of nails can take about 1 month to grow, and in this blog post, I will share my number one tips on how you can grow long natural nails.
1. Wear Gloves While Cleaning
Another component of nail advice that I have found helpful is always to protect the nail when cleaning, especially when washing the dishes I always use heavy-duty yellow latex gloves when washing the dishes at night.
If you get your nails wet while wearing latex gloves while washing the dishes it will make them more prone to break.
But the thing that I am not liking about always wearing latex gloves is that they can easily tear and tears will cause the water to get your fingers wet, so you may need a new pair of latex gloves once every month.
The good thing is that latex gloves are reasonably inexpensive, and I get two pairs for around $3.00 at Walmart. Of course, you can also try the dollar store, but from my experience, these gloves tear easier than the ones I buy at Walmart.
2. Apply Cuticle Oil Daily
If I do not forget, I have more nail tips for you: apply cuticle oil to your cuticles and nails at least once a day.
If you want to know how to make your nails grow overnight, applying a cuticle to the nails will also nourish the nail bed and strengthen that nail, in addition nourishing the cuticle facilitates the nails to grow healthier than if you were not to use cuticle oil.
I now utilize two different cuticle oils, the first one I received in my gel nail polish kit from Gelish, now I love it because it smells great, but I’m almost out. The second one I’m using is from Sally’s Beauty, it is the beauty secret cuticle oil, and I also bought a large bottle of this oil for around $8.
If you are into DIY you can also use warm olive oil to coat the cuticles after washing your hands daily and caring for your nails overnight.
The Beauty Secrets cuticle oil is not as fragrant as the Gelish cuticle nail oil, but the scent is tolerable. I bought the large bottle, so I know it will last a while you can’t beat the price, but if you want your own bottle you can purchase it here.
You could also soak your nails in a bowl of warm water and lemon juice as an alternative.
3. Take A Multivitamin
I cannot emphasize enough how critical taking a multivitamin daily to increase the rate of nail growth, and you also might want to use Hair skin, and nails vitamin to get wholesome nails. For myself I take both a multivitamin and a hair skin and nails vitamin, they are both by Nature’s Bounty and are in gummy form.
I do not think I would have been as consistent in taking the vitamins if they were not gummies and, taking gummy vitamins is more comfortable to maneuver than regular pills because you don’t have to swallow them down with water. You can chew the gummies like any food or take them in the morning to start your day, it is also something that I look forward to eating because they taste like candy.
I found that taking a multivitamin helped my fingernails grow out faster and prevent nutritional deficiencies. However, although they were growing they were also breaking more easily, this led me to look into my nail care regimen and figure out what I was doing wrong.
I am also not here to offer medical advice as I am not a doctor, but taking a multivitamin is harmless to your health!
4. Use Gel Nail Polish
As a thriving nail grower, I can attest that another important factor in their increase is the kind of nail polish that I use. Gel nail polish has assisted me to grow nails fast and prevented them from chipping and splitting/breaking and can improve the overall health of the nail by protecting it with the gel coating.
I don’t think my nails would have made it through the pain of touching and opening things as well as being wet.
I like to use gel polish after having a subpar experience with regular nail polish, when I used regular nail polish I found that a thin film layer would build upon the nail polish and make it look dirty.
Dirty nails were very aggravating, and I could not walk around with them looking like that, so I researched and discovered Gel Nails, they are by far the finest option if you are looking for an alternative natural way to wear your nails the way they are without any artificial enhancements.
You can find gel nail polish at any manicure/pedicure salon, and you can also find them at Sally’s if you prefer to apply them yourself.
Application of gel nail polish also does take some time to get used to, and you have to be meticulous not to apply it on the cuticle or it will ruin the look of the manicure.
Another tip is to incorporate a thick layer of clear gel to condense the nail bed averting it from chipping by making it appear denser.
I like to use the Gelish Surface polish and apply two coats of this stuff in the end you will have much thicker nails, and they won’t break from the familiar elements we may find in life, and all you need to remove gel nail polish is also with polish remover.
If gel polish is not your thing, you can also use a nail strengthener which is a more affordable option and would recommend to young adolescence before embarking on gel nails.
