My Favorite Skincare Devices and Regimen
In this blog post, we are going to discuss some of my favorite skincare devices that make skincare fun and enjoyable. To me, skincare can be a bit boring as we are basically applying clear creams/lotion to the face. Thanks to places like Sephora etc., they have made skin care enjoyable and is more comparable to a spa-like event.
I started getting into skincare after watching other celebrities take care of their skin. Some were very elaborate, while others were pretty basic and easy to follow.
I took advantage of the basic skin care regimes I saw online and developed my own skin care regimen. So, in this blog post, you will understand some of the basic processes involved in my skincare and why they are so very important. I hope you enjoy it!
Step 1. Cleansing the Skin
It is very important these days to keep the skin clean! All the harsh things we put our skin through such as applying makeup, withstanding pollution, and hard workouts, can leave the skin very dirty and more prone to breakouts. By keeping the skin clean morning and night, you can almost guarantee that you won’t endure any breakouts and pimples.
My favorite device for skin cleansing is the Foreo Mini 2. While it is an investment, it is well worth it because from experience other replica brands do not last as long and you end up shelling out more money to replace it. I have had my Foreo Mini 2 for 2 years now and it is still going on strong.
It’s easy to use, all you do is take your facial cleanser and rub it in your hands to work up a good lather, then apply the soap to your face. Wet the device and get to business. Each cleansing session is for a good 60 seconds but I like to go in and wash my face twice to make sure that my face is squeaky clean. After, wash off the soap with running water and a towel to pat the face dry.
Step 2. Face Mask and Steaming
The second step in my skincare routine is to apply a clay mask after steaming my face under boiling hot water for a good 5 minutes. Steaming helps to open the pores and get hard to remove debris from the skin. I then follow up with a clay mask to remove the impurities from my skin. Clay masks are very good at removing impurities and sebum and dirt that are not visible to the naked eye.
Next, I remove the mask with a wet towel and rinse off my face.

Step 3. LED Therapy and Microcurrent Facial
After I have completed step two, I continue to my favorite part of my skincare regimen. That is LED Therapy and Microcurrent Facial. Recently I was gifted this exceptional facial device by Comper called the comper smarkin that does several things such as LED Therapy which is basically treating the skin with LED lights and also acts like other skin tightening devices. This technique helps to eliminate acne and hyperpigmentation, and who would have thought that an LED light could do this?
Anti-aging Benefits
It also is an anti aging device that fights free radicals and increases collagen production in age spots. Free radicals are elements from the environment that can harm the skin that can cause skin cancer.
Next, the device also emits microcurrent electrolytes into the skin, which help to remove wrinkles and tighten the skin. So far, I am noticing the small wrinkles that I have on my forehead diminishing. Also based on other women’s reviews on this device, it does an exceptional job at removing wrinkles with microcurrent technology.
After this facial is complete, I rinse off the hyaluronic serum you have to use with this device as it is kind of sticky and is not something you would leave on the face. If you are also interested in this device, you can purchase it here.
Treating the Eye
Although skin care has become more and more significant in my life, I am finding that caring for my eyes, is another area that I want to spend more time taking care of.
So far I have received some eye creams from subscription boxes and even paid for eye creams from my own pocket. Using eye creams I find that they do improve the appearance of dark circles and work by seeping below the skin barrier and treat dark spots over time. I especially like to use these eye creams at night and not together, before I go to bed.
I also notice that eye creams really hydrate dry skin around the eye and gradually eliminate the signs of aging.
Moisturizing the Skin
A side effect of not treating the skin after you wash it can be detrimental to skin care. Why is this? I learned later in life that applying moisturizer to your face after you wash it help protect your skin from natures elements .
Another important step is to protect your skin from the sun, and that is to wear an SPF before you head outside to protect the skin from sun exposure. It is also a known fact that by applying creams to the face daily can prevent fine lines and wrinkles.
How to Treat Dark Spots
Now , I am no dermatologist but after visiting a dermatologist for the first time 5 years ago, I learned to address my skin care needs on my own. The very first dark spot treatment that I ever tried was recommended by my dermatologist and it was the Pigmenclar serum my La Roche Posay. I couldn’t believe that an over the counter could eliminate some of my hyperpigmentation.
After using this product, and running out, I noticed how expensive it can be to maintain an even skin tone and one bottle would cost $60 each time. I wanted more affordable options and started doing more research on skin care and treating hyperpigmentation.
The next products that I discovered was glycolic peels after receiving samples from my ipsy subscription box. The very first product that I discovered was the First Aid Beauty facial radiance pads. I loved them and would take pictures of my progress. This is when I learned about AHA’S which stands for alpha hydroxy acids which exfoliate the skin gently.
You can mainly fine AHA’s in facial cleansers and toners. Another great AHA’s toner that I would recommend is the Pixi Glow Tonic , which you can find at any drug store. The reason why I am a fan of this product is mainly because of the price and you can get a decent size bottle for $20.
This by far is a game changer when you compare the price to FAB Radian pads because one months supply of cleansing pads, those 60 pads can cost you $60. This pricing is out of my price range, so finding alternatives such as Pixi glow tonic is the right option for me.
LED Light Therapy
Another thing that I love about the comper smarkin which is a microcurrent device that stimulates the skin and treats the skin in various areas, is that it also has red light therapy. LED light therapy is also another way to treat dark marks on the face. There are also different shades of light that address certain issues. My personal favorite is the green light therapy.
Another skin care devices that I have experimented with is the Foreo UFO mini. It is a tool that acts as a face mask but also uses LED light therapy at the same time as you glide the device across your face.
Conclusion
So, there you have it, this was a basic rundown of my weekly skin care regimen. I did also leave a few steps out like skin exfoliation, toning, and microdermabrasion because I didn’t want to make such a lengthy post.
Although I have not had this regimen for long, I probably started getting deep into skin care about one year ago. I am so glad that I have discovered the world of skincare after trying a product that my dermatologist recommended by La Roche Posay . The product worked and ever since then I have become more involved in my skincare.
I hope that this post helped you decide on where to begin in your skincare journey with proven skincare reviews, and if this is not at all new to you, I hope that you took away some advice that I offered in this post. This is honestly the best skincare over 40 has to offer.
Thank you also to Comper beauty for sponsoring this post and I hope that you consider trying this product because it really works at removing wrinkles and improving skin problems.
