What I have learned from school about this professional styler is that it will not damage your hair. The mist, combined with heat, can be used to treat dry hair by using the moisture it carries. I would not purchase or use the mist straightener without the serum. You need the serum for this tool to work for a straight hairstyle. I also tried other serums, such as Biosilk and Chi Silk Infusion, to no avail. I must emphasize that you must use the steam pod serum for it to work. Sorry for my rant, but I truly love this product and want the best for my readers, as a hairstylist-in-training.
